Four Ways to Beat Bad Weather While Camping

No matter what Mother Nature brings our way, RVing is a great chance to get outside and bond with family and friends, or meet new friends. Inclement weather should never detour or cancel your camping getaway. Here are some of my favorite ways to get through a little hiccup in the sunny skies.
Board and Card Games: Make everyone tune out of social media for a couple of hours and enjoy the good old fashion fun of playing a game together. My family's most-liked games are Yahtzee, Apples to Apples, and Uno. It lets you use your reasoning of probability, makes you think a little more than normal, and tests your awareness.
Charades: There is no better way to get your laugh on! Acting out scenes from shows and songs, to interpreting fictional characters and everyday items … charades is that go-to game for all ages that never gets old. Play from homemade, hand-cut pieces of paper, or get a phone app that allows everyone a chance to guess.
Roll Back to DVDs: On a rainy afternoon, there is nothing like popping in a retro DVD player and movie. Many people like to purchase a projector and play DVD movies on the side of their motor homes, so the more-the-merrier! Must-have DVDs are the John Candy and Dan Aykroyd iconic hit The Great Outdoors from 1988. Another must-have is the 2006 Robin Williams classic comedy RV.
Ask the Campground Office: Campgrounds often have events scheduled through the season which are inside or under a pavilion. They may have a craft hour, Bingo night, or welcome a DJ or live music to dance to. Be sure to ask an attendant when checking in, especially if you know poor weather is looming.
